Moony – The Invasion EP Out Now

Moony - The Invasion EP

Already this year Moony has released a ‘Remix EP’ and featured on Spooky’s ‘Allstars EP, but it seems that was only the start, as the Brighton based DJ/Producer is now back with yet another release, entitled ‘The Invasion EP’.

The EP, which has been released by the newly formed label 1st Stepz Records set up by I Love Grime and Fewie, contains 4 massive instrumentals, each with showcase Moony’s versatility to the fullest. The release first eases you into things with the laid back Future Garage sounding track ‘Freakin Out’ before delving in to two much grimier riddims, ‘Mediate’ and ‘Last Thursday’ and finally finishing things off with one for the clubs/raves, entitled ‘Pon Di Roof’.

Mr. Mitch – Searching | Volume 1: Venus

Mr. Mitch - Searching | Volume 1: Venus

The end of the month is here and as promised Mr. Mitch has delivered his latest release, entitled ‘Venus’ which is volume 1 of his new ‘Searching’ series. The release is technically a free download as you’re not required to pay anything to be able to download it, however there is the option of choosing your own price if you feel donate anything towards the release.

This is why we have chosen not to label this as a free download to our readers. ‘Venus’ contains 14 instrumentals, both old and new, which Mr. Mitch has themed around love and relationships (hence the title), and out of those 14 beats is some extremely good music. So even if you can only spare a couple of quid at the most, at least you’ll be contributing to something worthwhile.

Look out for volume 2, entitled ‘Mars’, coming soon, which will feature some of Mr. Mitch’s heavier material.

Swindle & Silkie – Unlimited Out Now

Swindle & Silkie - Unlimited

Almost a year after their last release, the Butterz label return in 2012 with what is possibly one of their best releases to date. The track ‘Unlimited’ was crafted by two of the most innovative producers in the UK right now, Swindle and Silkie, and anyone that is familiar with their music, lets face it by now you all should be, will know that it’d be impossible for a collaboration such as this to result in anything other than great.

Although Swindle is generally classed as a producer that has come from Grime, as is Silkie with Dubstep, people have often scratched their heads as to what genre both of these producers music fall into and unfortunately for those people out there that do often wonder, this track certainly won’t clear anything up for them. However to us that is the beauty of this song. You can sit there all day trying to come to a conclusion, but the fact is while you’re trying to work it out, everyone else is enjoying this for what it really is…..good music.

On top of the title track ‘Unlimited’, we’re also treated to the track, ‘Pineapple’, from Swindle on the b-side, which we’ve always seen a more than positive reaction from the crowd, whenever we’ve heard Swindle play this in the rave. The single is out now both digitally and on vinyl and is available from any of the stores listed below.
